Students are expected to be in attendance at every rehearsal and at the evening performance.
Students are expected to be on time to every rehearsal and the performance.
Students are expected to be on their best behavior, pay attention and keep talking to a minimum during rehearsals, and take care of personal needs outside of rehearsal time.
Students are expected to have all materials necessary to participate at the festival: Instrument, music, reeds, oil, etc. Some supplies, such as reeds, will be on hand in case of emergency.
Students are expected to know Concert Eb, Concert Bb Scale, Concert F Scales, and chromatic scales.
Woodwind players should plan to have at least 3 good reeds with them the day of the festival.
Brass players should have a bottle of oil and/or slide grease with them the day of the festival.
Students are expected to eat lunch and supper provided by Andrews University with all participants at the Pioneer Memorial Church Commons.
Students are expected to wear clothing in accordance with their school policy. In addition:
Hats are not to be worn in any buildings on campus.
Pants are to be worn at the waist, and not to be sagging.
Shirts are to be worn long enough to cover entire midriff.
Shoes are to be worn at all times.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking across campus to meals.
Bring/wear appropriate attire for the weather when walking across campus.
Students are to bring a change of clothing for the festival performance in the evening. Concert attire will be as follows:
Black pants or skirt
Remember we are here to have a good time together! There are rules we must follow in order to have a great day. If we follow the guidelines, we can then focus on creating great music and having a great performance!
